EDDY GÒMEZ "Arco Iris (Somewhere Over The Rainbow)"
Born in Guadalajara, Mexico from Aztec ancestors, EDDY GÒMEZ began his musical career at the tender age of just 5 years old. He received his musical education from his father, who was himself a well-known musician in his day. With a strong love of his Mexican heritage and his country, he sang in several Mariachi groups, attracting widespread recognition with his extraordinarily emotional and expressive voice.
Not just a singer, Gòmez’ father taught him how to play the guitar, the vihuela (a Mexican stringed instrument), the accordion, and the Mexican guitarron — a 6-string acoustic bass used in classical Mexican music. To this day, he plays them all with amazing virtuosity.
Along with Arco Iris, Gòmez decided to create a unique cover of the classic hit song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" — fulfilling a childhood dream and putting a spotlight on his soulful voice. With ist hip, Reggaeton style, the track is available in both an Edit and Extended Mix versions, along with a groovy Nice Noise remix.
Also available is a well-received music video, which reflects on the current “border wall” political situation between the USA and Mexico.
